I think the keyword here is "adjective". tanru are not constructs with
adjectives. They can be called rather "compound verbs".

Adjectives are expressed using NOI in Lojban:
"big yellow book" = {lo noi barda je pelxu vau pa cukta} or even {lo noi
barda zi'e noi pelxu vau pa cukta}
