Here are a few examples where the CLL tosmabru test appears to malfunction: tanru: kalte cilce catni = hunter + wild + authority = kat cic y catni = ka tcicycatni = deceiver authority tanru: kalte cilce cevni = hunter + wild + god = kat cic y cei = ka tcicycei = deceiver diety tanru: kalte cilce cipni = hunter + wild + bird = kat cic y cpi = ka tcicycpi = deceiver bird-ness All three of these "lujvo" pass the tosmabru test as laid out on p. 71. {cc} is not a valid initial consonant pair, so the test passes and doesn't demand a tosmabru y-hyphen. The lujvo nevertheless require a y-hyphen in order to avoid breaking-up: katycicycatni katycicycei katycicycpi Is my head on backwards, or is the tosmabru test in the CLL just wrong? At this point, I'm so confused I'm not even sure what the proper form for a lujvo is. Does anyone have a formal description (i.e., grammar rules) for what constitutes a valid lujvo? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "lojban" group.
