The docbook-prince branch has:

1.  end-to-end pdf creation with no latex; it's XHTML and CSS

2.  the conversion of our quasi-docbook to actual docbook to docbook
is now custom, easy-to-read Ruby, *NO XSLT*

So the whole chain is quasi-docbook -> Ruby -> docbook -> XHTML ->
pdf

So, basically, anybody with web programming experience should be
able to help out.  Go make it pretty.
