Many thanks to other people for helping out!  I got a bunch of
commits from Ilmen, selpahi, Alex Burka, Dan Ros=C3=A9n, and Danmo Rozgu.
Thank you all!

I also found a bug in the new conversion code.

*Many* of the cmavo list elements
were simply being thrown away.

Like selmaho.

It now tracks what it's presented and fails out if it didn't handle
anything.
