It's bothering me more and more how the current HTML/CSS home-brewed hacks
make the front page literally unusable on mobile devices. When I was owning
LMW on the old server I always checked it on mobile devices and on desktops
with different skins.

I'd like to restore the state of the front page compatible with mobile
devices since 12% of all sessions are done from mobile devices.

All suggestions to the front page should be first checked in sandbox pages.
For those who would like inspiration they can look at national wikipedias.
Wikipedias in different languages have front pages with various
mobile-friendly and widescreen-friendly templates. Even minor adaptations
of them can lead us to a better front page.
