(The other species of=20 Peganum live elsewhere.) Should the word derived from the genus name be "spatrpegano" or "spatrpigan= o"?=20 The vowel in Greek is eta. The vowel in Aramaic is chiriq (/i/) according t= o=20 the AENT. I looked at peshitta.org, but that text lacks vowels. (Both=20 translations from Aramaic say "dill". Has the meaning of "pigana" changed i= n=20 the last two thousand years?) Should the word derived from the species name be "armala" or "xarmala"? The= =20 Arabic word is "=D8=AD=D8=B1=D9=85=D9=84", beginning with a guttural which = I'm inclined to=20 transliterate as "x".
