I don't care what> character is used, but I'm going to suggest ! as a starting point. In my very personal (beginner's) opinion, this seems like a good idea.I suspect, though, that we may not even need an extra character forrepresenting stress. While thinking about Yet Another Oriental Orthographyfor Lojban, I had this idea of denoting word boundaries simply by markingstressed syllables (using the general rule that Lojban words are stressed onthe penultimate syllable). In spoken Lojban, one will have to use stress tofigure out word endings anyway, so I thought it is just as well.So perhaps we can reverse this idea, by using whitespace to denote stresspositions; thus .IBraxim. -> .ibra xim. .ALbekerkis. -> .albe ker kis. There is still the problem of denoting stresses on the last syllable of aname. To denote these, we can place a comma after such syllable, thusly: .MUStafas.keMAL. -> .musta fas.kemal, .How is that for backward compatibility?Thanks,-- GPG:f75949318a026c5707ff188b438cca87faf73a82 http://angelfire.com/folk/sm0p/GCS/MU d- s: a- C++() UL P++(+++) L++(+++) E- W++ N(+) o K? w--- O?
