Etymologically "commensal" means co-tabler, one who shares
the table. Commensalism is a symbiotic relationship where one
of the species benefits and the other is unaffected, so one of
the species is welcome to the table of the other, as it were.

Other variants:
mivykansa: x1 is in a symbiotic relationship with x2.
mivykansi'u: x1 (mass) are in a symbiotic relationship.

I would say

xaursi'u: x1 (mass) are mutually beneficial (by standard x2). 
simxau: x1 and x2 are beneficial for one another (by standard x3).

This is because it is normally the last component of the lujvo that
determines the place structure. 

Maybe to be systematic:

mivykansa: x1 symbiotic with x2 (nu mivykansa: symbiosis)
mivysimxau: x1 mutually beneficial with x2 (nu mivysimxau: mutualism)
mivyvi'e: x1 is a commensal of x2 (nu mivyvi'e: commensalism)
mivyxaitcu: x1 is a parasite of x2 (nu mivyxaitcu: parasitism)
