I find the concepts fascinating, particularly since I have been unhappy with all the stupidity of the English language all my life (conjugation, homonyms, silent letters, strict parts-of-speech, almost built-in ambiguity, etc.) So i just wanted to post to say hello, and make sure this is the right place for brand new lojbanites. It is, although there is also a lojban-beginners list, which would be a good place to post basic questions (some of the discussion on this list can get very technical!). > mi rinsa le cmima (is that right?) That says "I greet the member", which is perhaps what one of us might say to you. If you want to greet a group which you are joining, you could say "mi rinsa rodo" ("I greet all-of-you") but it would be more normal just to say "coi rodo" - "Hello everyone!" Incidentally, I note that "rinsa" has "the arrival of" before x2, so perhaps it would be inappropriate to say when it is you who are arriving. robin.tr -- "I declare this sentence a performative!"
