I often fall into that trap too. In Spanish (and I suppose in Catalan too) b and v are both pronounced as a bilabial fricative. It is easy enough to change v into a labiodental fricative, but changing b into a plosive takes more effort. I don't hear ".ubu" for the fifth letter though.
