The Ming and Flash case, for example. I am not sure there is a totally satisfactory solution in terms of pronouns, hence the joke aphorism. I find it hard to believe that Lojban, which, like Loglan, is very sensitive about right hand ends, does not already have terminators for {zei} and {fi'o} (although as you are using it this needs a LHE terminator). And, indeed, {fi'o} has {fe'u}, but {zei} always works with one word at a time (so maybe you need "qui" after all.
