"doing it and not just about to," "finished and not still doing it:" those do the trick. At one point a while ago, people worked on variations on the superfective, "keeps on", continuing doing something after the occasion for it was past. Doing something before the occasion for it arose, a sense of "already," is one such variation. I forget how that was expressed.
