Because {mi} is a closed sumti, so there is no possibility for it to
absorb the following tanru unit {du}. You don't need a {cu} between
{mi} and {klama} in {mi klama le zarci}, and similarly you don't need
it between {mi} and {du}. {mi cu du do} is also grammatical, but the
{cu} is not necessary there.
