I think adoption of Lojban could be greatly accelerated with specifically audio oriented lessons. Lessons where the learner does not have to be tied to a computer, or deal with flash cards, or what have you. Something that could be listened to in a car, or while walking to class, for instance. Lately I've been using Pimsleur to learn German (and for some reason Cantonese) and I absolutely love it. I think an approach similar to something like Pimsleur or ChinesePod would be great. Something with high quality audio files and perfect pronunciation/grammar. You could even release it as a torrent (among other methods). It wouldn't seem like this would take too terribly much effort. Scripts could be worked out via newsgroup. I think the toughest part would be assembling two or three high quality volunteer speakers in proximity to appropriate audio equipment. ----- By the way, what's with all the spam in the newsgroup archives? Can't something be done about that? It makes reading old messages rather discouraging. -Travas ____________________________________________________________________________________ Fussy? Opinionated?
