Are you sire about this? Java is a very nasty language when it comes to programming intelligent agents. Also, I find the 3D world to be a bit useless. You want to create an intelligent and emotional AI. You're better off with first creating a basic speech and emotion core, and then use an open-source 3D engine to put the AI to the test. But hey, it's your decision. Anyway, I'd be more than glad to help. I'm a big AI enthusiast, and was actually planning to start a very similar project this summer.
