Hah, I totally read it that way, too.

Sorry.  What I = meant was that, taking cities as an example,
you would lojbanize the nam= es of those cities as pronounced
by their inhabitants (i.e. the local la= nguage).  That's fairer and
more 'neutral' than using their English= names even though more
people around the world may recognize the Englis= h name.
So the lojban name for India's largest city should be based onMumbai even though more people around the world would
still recognize = Bombay.
