That is what I used to call it. I think the use of [I] picked up from something Cowan wrote that I took as a correction. A sound halfway between Lojban 'i' and 'y' has been what I intended all along, with possibly a little higher/ further back if needed to isolate further - pushing into the space where no Lojban vowel dares to tread. If you can suggest terminology and sample words that will make this clearer, Ivan, it might help discussions much. lojbab
