The person who removes dirty plates from the tables and carries them to
the kitchen for cleaning.  His/her duties often extend to pouring water on
demand, refilling coffee cups, and other activities not directly charged for.
Sometimes revised into "busperson", "busman", or "busser".

In cafeterias, a common sign is PLEASE BUS YOUR OWN TRAY; this is the
same concept expressed as a verb.
