I now expect to be in Russia starting next Friday (2 October) until 24 October, and LLG 'Central' will basically be off-line for most of that time, though someone will probably monitor Lojban List for major breaking news. John Cowan expects to be back around 14 October. I will probably be a while catching up on return, since I will be spending time getting used to being a daddy to two children who don;t speak English. I will be attempting to promote Lojban while in Russia. An outstanding quick-turnaround by Ivan Derzhanski has produced a Postscript formatted Cyrillic/Russian translation of the Lojban brochure, tailored to the Russian audience. I will be distributing this in Russia, and one linguist there has expressed willingness in helping us submit the text for publication in one or more Russian journals. A copy of the Russian brochure will join the Esperanto brochure on the Planned Languages Server before too long, I hope. Until then, ask Ivan for a copy if you would like it (Lojban looks cute in Cyrillic script, if a bit difficult to get used to.) No promises the trip won;t be delayed furtherm, though at this point almost all paperwork is done, and we don;t know of reasons for further delay. I remain unable to plan any stopovers enroute in London or elsewhere, due to the travel restrictions. lojbab
