Also, if you haven't been updating the list, I should }probably to my thing on the last year's worth of archives sometime }reasonably soon, and before we build up a supply of stuff using the new }rafsi. I'm sure the ckafybarja stuff produced a goodly number of lujvo. The list hasn't really been updated since September. Iain has been through the list and made some suggestions, which I incorporated in November; Bob Chassell is going through the list now. There hasn't been a mass of text since September, so I don't think we've missed much in not updating the list. There are a couple of words I would pick a better structure for now. micka'a, for example --- to operate. In the old list, I had only a place for the organ operated on, not the patient, figuring that the patient would be a place of the organ bridi: thus, mi micka'a le livga be la djan. But this gives us no easy way of saying "I operated on John" or "John had an operation"; and it makes more sense to have a separate place for le se mikce (the patient) and le se katna (the organ): mi micka'a le livga la djan. So I do think I need to go through the list once more (which I will anyway having gotten Bob's comments), and do a bit of fine-tuning. Lujvo place structures are always an open-ended matter anyway, of course. }Please give me approximate status of your place structure paper work, and }when you think you would likely get it done given the plausible ranges }of priority you think it could be assigned. Well, all I intended to do further on the paper was to expand the list of example cases to incorporate simxu, simlu, and ro, all of which make place structures a bit quirky. That, and a stylistic retuning of the prose. I'll need a bit of kickstarting to get back into it after such a long absence, but I think I'll have it all out of the way by month's end. I incorporated John's proposed gismu place structure changes into the list, thinking them kosher. Given a finalised list, I'll retune again. This business of traji... well, my proposal for exchanging 2nd and 4th place does make the lujvo more pleasant, but I'll leave that debate for another day. None of the other changes will affect more than a couple of lujvo, I think. However is it all going btw? Oh: IRC has been banned at Melbourne Uni. I will try and get onto it during Logfest via anonymous login from some public access site, but I can't guarantee I'll succeed, and public access IRC is problem-laden. We'll see, in any case. --- 'Dera me xhama t"e larm"e, T Nick Nicholas, CgS & CS, Melbourne Uni Dera mbas blerimit | nsn@munagin.ee.mu.oz.au (IRC: nicxjo) Me xhama t"e larm"e!
