The only constraint is the annual meeting which is at 10:30 EDT, which I think means 14:30 GMT, so we should stay away from the hour or two immediately after then. Since we are dealing with major time shifts, and Nick has to work hard to even get on, I suggest that we set up to three times to attempt connections. One time on Saturday will be selected for Nick's convenience, more or less, since Colin won't be around. Actually, if I calculate correctly, if we try Saturday evening, it will be Sunday morning in oz, so lets make it late enough that you get some sleep Nick, if you want to try this. We can then try for a main shot, where all three of us (and whoever else in the world cares) will get on, probably such that it is late enough to be reasonable for Nick in oz, while early enough that Colin isn't up too late. Or if the time difference to oz is too great (I don't know the hours count), we can go for an early time, wherein it will still be evening in oz. We could then try a third time, I guess Sunday evening. Generally people start leaving along around 2pm-3PM Sunday, so it would be ideal if we could have the main session before then, but I suspect that might be too early for Nick, unles we did it in the early AM. We could also just have separate sessions, and not try to have all three of us on at once, if it makes the timing easier. It sounds like Nick will have enough problems getting on IRC at all to make less requirement for synchronicity a better bet. BTW, if either of you is considering a live phone call, please forewarn me this time. Heart attacks during LogFest aren't a good thing. Cowan usually stays until Monday, as do Dave and Sylvia,a nd these are the people who will know how to do IRC here. Erik Rauch, who did the Lojbot, may also be coming, and thus presumably knows IRC, but he didn't know his schedule - just that he will be in DC this weekend and would like to come by. We may have more than 20 people, even perhaps more than 25, before the weekend is gone. lojbab
