The Chinese word is ji1 guang1, which I take to mean {frati gusni} or perhaps
{terfrati gusni}, following the English form "(light amplification by)
stimulated (emission of) radiation".  How about fragu'i?

Of course, that could just as well be one of those lights that flashes
when you push a button.
