Allow me to register an (un-thought-out and possibly
to be retracted on reflection) negative on all this
detransitiving. My immediate reaction is we are going
'metaphysically parsimonious' to the detriment of
ease of use (or at any rate of learning).

When I think about it, and read the discussion more
carefully, I may change my view, but at the moment
warning bells are going off for me about wholesale
tinkering.
