If you're reading this, please send a message to my e-mail address. I'll publish the results next week. Thank you for your help. Jorge --- [Note: after {pe'u} there should have been a {do'u}, but because of one of those things, what I wrote is still grammatical, and makes the same sense that I intended, with a collaborative reader to give a reasonable interpretation to the first place of {tcidu}.] The results were better than I had expected: 10 people responded, and even better, all of them in Lojban! (except for one who used English and Klingon as well). Most of them had comments, so here are my comments and misrepresentation of what they said, followed by their actual words: (In the order in which I received them) Nick says he reads them. (But has no time for anything else at present.) Veijo says he tries to read them. Matthew says he reads them, but finds it hard without the help of the computer to translate. (This is my case too, I'm constantly using grep to look up words.) John says he rarely reads them, because he doesn't have much free time. Also, he likes "selzukte" posts to be in English. I don't know what exactly that means, but I guess that Lojban is just for pointless chatter or something like that :) Frank says he only reads them if they don't use rafsi, because learning them is too hard. (Personally I think that it's too hard to say much without using at least some lujvo.) Lojbab says that normally he doesn't really read them but skims over them to see if there is anything that seems important. He also says that he thinks it's important that many people use Lojban in the list, to show to the many lookers and non-learners who are always considering or judging the language and its people. Colin responded to obey the command. (I had to explain to him that it was a request, not an order. :) I also told him that he was already counted before he sent his reply, because I already knew he reads them.) Erik says he (with effort) reads them, but that it's happily getting to be less difficult. (I too find that with practice it gets easier.) He also would like to know how many people _can_ read Lojban. Iain says that he reads them, sometimes even understands them! :) but few times responds. Bruce says he reads them. These are their actual words, which I freely interpreted above: ************************************************************************** From: nsn@vis.mu.OZ.AU (Nick NICHOLAS) Hu'tegh! nuq ja' Jorge Llambias jay'? =coi doi lojbo =mi kucli le du'u xokau prenu cu tcidu lei selmri poi se ciska bau la lojban =i pe'u do tcidu dei inaja e'o ko mrilu lo notci le skami judri be mi .i mi tcidu.
