Activities are a subclass of events, true. But it is mistaken to assume that any situation of a given type can necessarily be construed as a situation of another type. For example, a state cannot be construed as an achievement, or vice versa. The activity you mention is a set (or mass of many individuals) of teeth-brushings (each of which is either an activity or an accomplishment, depending on whether you view it as intrinsically bounded). Since this set inherits certain properties of its members, i.e. duration, and since some Lojbo authorties think sets don't inherit properties from their members, I'd better call it a mass rather than a set. I recognize that when it comes to situations, Lojban may exceptionally blur the distinction between individuals and masses, but be that as it may, I disagree with your formulation, but will readily go along with: Ex x is a mass, Ay if y is a constituent of x then y is an event of tooth-brushing, Az if z is a day then x is located at z. ---- And
