Yes. the parser output is idiosyncratic, and all attitudinals will glom onto the previous word. This is not significant to the parse: we just interpret the attitudinal as applying to the quoted text as a whole, which it does when a text starts with an attitudinal. The quote includes the 'quotation marks', in other words, for purposes of scope determination. lojbab
