A 1911 edition of this is apparently available via Project Gutenburg on the net. I did a quick extract of the major outline sections that should coorespond to the first couple of digits of the code: CLASS I WORDS EXPRESSING ABSTRACT RELATIONS SECTION I. EXISTENCE SECTION II. RELATION SECTION III. Q U A N T I T Y SECTION IV. ORDER SECTION V. NUMBER SECTION VI. TIME SECTION VII. CHANGE SECTION VIII. CAUSATION CLASS II WORDS RELATING TO SPACE SECTION I. S P A C E I N G E N E R A L SECTION II. D I M E N S I O N S Section III. FORM Section IV. MOTION CLASS III Words Relating to MATTER Section 1. MATTER IN GENERAL Section II. INORGANIC MATTER SECTION III. ORGANIC MATTER CLASS IV WORDS RELATING TO THE INTELLECTUAL FACULTIES DIVISION (I) FORMATION OF IDEAS Section I. OPERATIONS OF INTELLECT IN GENERAL Section II. PRECURSORY CONDITIONS AND OPERATIONS Section Ill. MATERIALS FOR REASONING Section IV. REASONING PROCESSES Section V. RESULTS OF REASONING SECTION VI EXTENSION OF THOUGHT SECTION VII. CREATIVE THOUGHT DIVISION (II) COMMUNICATION OF IDEAS SECTION I. NATURE OF IDEAS COMMUNICATED. SECTION II. MODES OF COMMUNICATION Section III. MEANS OF COMMUNICATING IDEAS CLASS V WORDS RELATING TO THE VOLUNTARY POWERS1 Division (1) INDIVIDUAL VOLITION Section I. VOLITION IN GENERAL Section II. Prospective Volition1 Section Ill. VOLUNTARY ACTION Section IV. ANTAGONISM Section V. RESULTS OF VOLUNTARY ACTION DIVISION (II) I N T E R S O C I A L V O L I T I O N SECTION I. GENERAL INTERSOCIAL VOLITION Section II. Affections in General Section II Personal Affections SECTION III. SYMPATHETIC AFFECTIONS SECTION IV. MORAL AFFECTIONS SECTION V. RELIGIOUS AFFECTIONS Please pardon if this isn't pretty. Now it turns out that Cowan did another pass at the thesaurus in 1993 attaempting to update it, and this time used the paragraph numbers. This apprently has not made it onto our Web site directly. However you will find it on the site in the Lojban List archives (I hope). There should be 4 messages dated (approximately) 21 Feb 1993. Sorry that should be 1992. The text is over 70K and I don't have a clean uploadable copy at the moment, or I would just repost it. Perhaps John can find and extract his copy more easily and put it on the ftp site, where it will thence end up accessable via the Web. Note also that Veijo Vilva, who hosts the Web site, in effect created a thesaurus of sorts by his cross-referencing, which is still maintained in an updated form in the official gismuy list. I would suspect that Veijo has his database used in the crossreferencing somewhere on the Web site. Hope this helps. ---- lojbab lojbab@access.digex.net Bob LeChevalier, President, The Logical Language Group, Inc. 2904 Beau Lane, Fairfax VA 22031-1303 USA 703-385-0273 Artificial language Loglan/Lojban: ftp.access.digex.net /pub/access/lojbab or see Lojban WWW Server: href="http://xiron.pc.helsinki.fi/lojban/" Order _The Complete Lojban Language_ - see our Web pages or ask me.
