Indeed, it seems that Rex has forgotten that JCB specifically answered his proposal for relexification with morphology changes in Lognet several years ago. Basically JCB said that it would be fine for Rex to go ahead and make a language of that sort and go his separate way, but that it would *not* be Loglan. This was NOT the same attitude that he took towards Lojban - we had explicitly kept the original morphology with just enough changes to rationalize it and avoid possible copyright violation claims. While JCB never accepted our calling it "Loglan", he also did not act as though he liked the idea of us going our separate ways. We also have done a good enough job at staying true to JCB's design requirements that people have talked of reunifying the two languages and communities. While the former may not be possible, our essential unity is clear to many, unlike for example that of Esperanto and Ido (which actually look more alike in print than Lojban and TLI Loglan). lojbab ---- lojbab lojbab@lojban.org Bob LeChevalier, President, The Logical Language Group, Inc. 2904 Beau Lane, Fairfax VA 22031-1303 USA 703-385-0273 Artificial language Loglan/Lojban: http://www.lojban.org (newly updated!) --------------------------- ONElist Sponsor ---------------------------- Get what you deserve with NextCard Visa.
