I started learning Lojban about a month after beginning my fascination with linguistics. I suspect that that fueled my Lojban interest, although the two are now entirely separate in my mind. Although I'm not a programmer (actually, I've been described as a programmer who doesn't program by one of my friends), I am intrigued by the possibilities inherent in a computer-parseable language. My dream is that in the near future, someone will have both the time and the skill to create a free, high-quality program that translates from Lojban into natural languages. Such a development would revolutionize commerce, international relations, and possibly even politics, as a document in a single language - Lojban - could be read by anyone once the necessary functionality for their native tongue was added. I believe that any such program would be tremendously beneficial to the world. - mi'e .kreig.daniyl. ragnarok@pobox.com teucer@bnomic.org To unsubscribe, send mail to lojban-unsubscribe@onelist.com Yahoo!
