In British versions of the books, the postal address of the Esperanto Society was provided, along with an explanation that "Esperanto is not made up for this story, it is real and alive ..." However, I only bothered following up with Esperanto when I discovered that you could run through course-work via email, having your work 'marked' by a real Esperanto speaker within a couple of days. That was pre-IRC, so things might be swifter these days ... :-) -djim
