A: na lojbau drani fa lo'u mi je do klama le'u B: je'enai A: mi pu cusku lu na lojbau drani fa lo'u mi je le'u ... (oops) si do klama le'u Alice says "le'u" too early, and wants to correct that. IMHO, the above utterance is the most obvious and intuitive way to do it. Now, John, you're saying that Alice is being ungrammatical. OK.
