I suppose it could mean any liquid (it only pertains to liquids....right??), but I don't think we need to specify water. I * could* use rirxe, but the lujvo would be uglier. > I think all these -matra lujvo should have the power source in x3. The sun > can't motor a car down the street without some device. x1 is the device, x2 > is the car, and x3 is the sun. Yeah, I knew I'd get hammered for that. But the solri doesn't just mean sun; it means solar. So solmatra is a solar motor, or a motor somehow related to the sun. Same goes for all the other ones. > > > rarna (x1 is natural) > > + > > mapti (x1 fits/is appropriate for x2 in property x3) > > = > > rarmapti (m1 is ergonomic for m2=r1 in property m3) > > Not sure if this naturally fits the meaning ;) Yeah, its a little too broad. But it should be clear that we are talking about something physically ergonomic in a tanru like "rarmapti stizu". > > > jmina (x1 adds x2 to x3 to make x4) > > + > > cange (x1 is a farm at x2 farmed by x3 making x4) > > = > > mincange (c1 is an aquaponics farm at c2 farmed by c3=j1 > > making c4=j4) > > [Note: aquaponics combines fish & plant farming] > > Obscure. Why not {spajoifipcange}? Five syllables vs. three. I wanted something short, so I thought of "combination farm". I might go with your suggestion just for clarity, though. > > > spati (x1 is a plant of species x2) > > + > > jurme (x1 is a 1-celled lifeform of species/property x2) > > = > > spajurme (j1=s1 is algae of species/property j2=s2) > > I just say {alga}. Fu'ivla? I guess that would work. Spajurme is a little dangerous anyway, since some people think they are protists, not plants. > > > canlu (x1 is space/room occupied by x2) > > + > > platu (x1 plans/designs x2 for state/process x3) > > = > > calpla (p1 is an architect of p2=c1 for state/process p3) > > I think {dijypla} is better (building designer). lo calpla, to me, is someone > who designs living space, or plans the best use of space, or the like. Being an aspiring architect myself, I was even reluctant to use canlu! I wanted something like vanbi, since an architect is responsible for the entire feeling of the structure. I opted for canlu since a vabypla would be moreso a mixture of an architect and a stylist/designer. I don't think dinju is good enough, though, because architects build more than just buildings. > > > selpla (x1 is planned/designed by x2 for state/process x3) > > + > > bangu (x1 is the language used by x2 to express x3) > > = > > selplabau (b1=s1 is the conlang used by b2 to express b3) > > You might want to leave x2 of selpla in (x3 is "to express b3"). What would > {plabau} mean? I don't suppose plabau would mean anything. If we used plabau and your suggestions, it would come out to: plabau (b1=s2 is a conlang designed by p1 used by b2 to express b3=p3) Does p1 go before b2 or after? I forget what the convention is. okus
