One reason why I was never enthusiastic about going from our house to hotels for LogFest. Really, it seems like the three of you: Mark, Robin, and you strongly prefer a hotel, and everyone else prefers to be noncommittal and to decide on the spur of the moment whether to attend, which makes non-hotel a preference. I rarely had more than a few people commit to attending before I had full specifics laid out, and non-locals tended to be around 50/50 on actually coming if they gave a tentative commitment. Lacking the annual meeting as a reason to attend, LogFest has only a vague market audience, especially if travel is required. Perhaps if/when someone has the time/energy to plan much more in advance and make some effort to publicize it, LogFest could grow again. But I'm not willing to plan an out-of-house LogFest unless we can piggyback on an SF convention (and maybe not even then). lojbab -- lojbab lojbab@lojban.org Bob LeChevalier, Founder, The Logical Language Group (Opinions are my own; I do not speak for the organization.)
