Martin, I don't wish you undue embarrassment, but I learn from mistakes= , my own and others', so I don't worry too much about making them.  Th= e people on this list are (usually) very tactful and helpful, and they're o= ften funny, so I hope you don't avoid posting questions that may show you d= on't know something.  That's what questions are for.
