Umm. You seem to be only reading bits of the page in question. The page, for others' benefit, is http://www.lojban.org/tiki/tiki-index.php?page=How%20to%20use%20xorlo The part you seem to have ignored is: "xorlo" is our (the baupla fuzykamni's) pet name for the gadri (articles, like "the" and "a" in English) BPFK proposal written mostly by xorxes. It has the advantage of being a gismu form. The gadri proposal (which has now been accepted by a vote of 11 to 0 by the BPFK, although it is technically subject to future changes until we declare ourselves done) is quite complete, but rather full of technical jargon. I think that makes it clear that this is a new proposal. Furthermore, if you follow the "baupla fuzykamni" link, the first paragraph is: The baupla fuzykamni, also known as the BPFK or byfy, is the definitional committee for the Lojban language, charged with expanding the current documentation of the provisional Lojban baseline (and in particular improving the quality of cmavo definitions) as well as resolving any errors or conflicts that might exist. It was formed as a result of the new baseline statement by the LLG board in November of 2002. The baupla fuzykamni is currently led (in an administrative capacity, at least) by Robin Lee Powell. The "new baseline statement" link (to http://lojban.org/llg/baseline.html) provides even more detail. However, in case all of that is unclear in some way: xorlo is not official yet, but it probably will be. Nick's lessons are out of date in that they do not take xorlo into account; that will be fixed when the BPFK is finished with its work. Whether you want to keep up with what the BPFK is doing while we're still in progress, or wait until we're done, is up to you. If the latetr, ignore the xorlo page entirely for now. -Robin -- http://www.digitalkingdom.org/~rlpowell/ *** http://www.lojban.org/ Reason #237 To Learn Lojban: "Homonyms: Their Grate!"
