I was watching at these two... (see attach) and thought the vertical one is ugly (update: maybe no more so ;-) ), and the horizontal resembles the German flag (and Russian if reversed). Then I thought - a flag can be ugly. What shouldn't be ugly is герб (heraldry or sth.). (Your jbocpi looks like a герб, and when I saw it first, I've checked if it was the Klingon logo ;-) A logo of something called "Claw" among some Star Trek pictures was similar...
