Probably related to "libazo," "drip." Lebanon is what it seems to be "lebanon" though occasionally "libanon". Since frankincense comes from the sout end of the Arabian peninsula, Muscat and Yemen, there doesn't seem to be any connection, unless the spice trade routes entered Paleestine from the north, as they might well have done. But "(the) Lebanon" is the name of the mountains, so something along that line is the more likely source -- perhaps (given the association with "white") Cedra glauca, which famously grow there. --- Pierre Abbat wrote: > I'm reviewing the translation of the Song of > Solomon.
