Right. It doesn't make much difference in this case, but for me that would be {sma,cr,ko,ba,iu}. I don't allow any syllable to start with a bare vowel. At the very least you need a glottal stop (.), an apostrophe (') or a semi-consonant (i/u) to start a syllable. The glottal stop only at the beginning of a word, and the apostrophe never at the beginning of a word, of course.
