For example, I wouldn't have any doubt about "pretty (girl's school) over (pretty girl's) school. With (large men's clothing) store vs large (men's clothing store) I might have some doubt, since both exist. I would probably interpret (German book) store instead of German (book store) but Ottawa (book store) rather than (Ottawa book) store.
