However, it does not have a lot of specialist jargon. English has hundreds of thousands of vocabulary words just in its main dictionaries alone, with about 25,000 words added each year. This is not counting specialist jargon, which is often a language unto itself in each field. Most other languages for their jargon simply speak the English jargon word or an adaptation of it. Lojban is like this as well. What you might need to use is a borrowing, called a fu'ivla. Look up "fu'ivla" in the language materials and it will teach you how to integrate a word from other languages. -Eppcott On Feb 1, 2008 4:27 PM, Michal Tropp wrote: > > Hi. > My name is Michael and I'm strongly interested in learning lojban. > I'm especially interested in the application of that language in field of > technic and engineering. > My question is - are there any projects concerning this matter running? > Where can I find something more about it? > Is there any (even basic) technical vocabulary of lojban? > > I've read on the lojban webpage that one of the currently running projects > concerns application of that language in European Patent System. > That is why I assume that there is some technical vocabulary already > developed. > > Best regards, > Michael > > ________________________________ > Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger!
