Right now I'm heading up the Gnome translation project and laying the foundation. Before we begin translating we have the trouble of deciding things like phrasing and terminology, and then we have to use consistent terms throughout our translations. I've just taken the Lojban translation of the Lojban Tiki interface and used it as a reference. Right now we're deciding on what terms to keep and which to toss out in favour of something slightly more appropriate. The idea of a Wikipedia translation team has been brought up a few times already, but nobody has taken the initiative to organise it. I imagine that issues like conventional naming of animals would be a problem in the wiki team, but it would be a very interesting project, and I'd be glad to help out any translation team that's willing to organise and plan out their efforts. There are an infinite number of things to be translated, so I encourage everybody to join the team or start up your own. .i ko jbofanva http://groups.google.com/group/jbofanva/ > >From: Steven Lytle >To: lojban-list@lojban.org >Sent: Fri, January 15, 2010 7:40:39 PM >Subject: [lojban] Re: (Un-)Official translation project! > > >Do you plan to do any translating yourself? > >stevo > > >On Fri, Jan 15, 2010 at 7:55 PM, Lindar Greenwood wrote: > >Well, it's time to let everybody know.
