I've had no end of trouble getting my desktop environment to load a compose table that includes the accented characters I use and provides them to all my applications. Thus I would prefer to minimize the use of non-ASCII characters. But I like the aesthetics of the accents. Someone else suggested a font in which upper case glyphs were similar to lower case but with an accent. That sounds very nice for print media, but it would take some work, and meta-tags in the documents, to make the font appear on the fly for interspersed Lojban and non-Lojban messages or documents.
