It will cause confusion and false expectation, especially when you get rafsi involved. For intermediate students who have better core knowledge of cmavo vs. rafsi, etc, it should be fine. (Trust me, this crops up often.) There are quite a few of these pairs, however, and they definitely do help you remember.
