Until this conversation, all I knew about elephants was that there were two kinds, the African and the Asian, and that they are related to the long extinct mammoth. "sa'orselde'i" describes African elephants, not Asi= an ones. Not that I've ever
looked in an elephant's mouth, but IIUR, the ridges on Africans are obl= ique,
while those on Asians aren't.
