As I understand it, you can TAG gi ... gi or JOI gi ... gi any construct you could use within a GA ... gi construct - so basically, you could pair sumti, or selbri, or bridi in this way. In some ways, you can think of it as a forethought version of {.i TAG bo}. Right from the CLL: mi mu'i gi viska le cukta gi lebna le cukta I, motivated by seeing the book, took the book. Here, we're separating two bridi-tails. This can be shortened, however, to: mi mu'i gi viska gi lebna vau le cukta Elegant, isn't it? I just learned about this yesterday as well. An example that cropped up on IRC, from vensa: va'o gi mi troci lo nu kakne lo vajni poi cinri mi gi mi gleki If you are starting with a tag and would like to comfortably be able to return to base-level without {cu}, this can act like that. TAG gi ... state a complex bridi which might require obscene amounts of terminators, gi, and then your main bridi - no {cu} required! mi'e .kribacr. mu'o On Wed, Jan 26, 2011 at 3:38 PM, Luke Bergen wrote: > I was just perusing the lojban wiki page and found this example: > seri'agi mi jgari lei djacu gi mi jgari le kabri > With-physical-effect I grasp the-mass-of water, I grasp the cup. > I grasp water, since I grasp the cup. > I didn't know you could just do: TAG+gi broda gi brode. =A0That's awesome= . > =A0Although, I have to admit, I really am not at all sure about what is g= oing > on here. > So is {baugi la lojban gi mi tavla} the same thing as {mi tavla bau la > lojban}? =A0But wait... it's like the second {gi} is linking two bridi, s= o > would it have to be {baugi jbobau gi mi tavla}? > So is {mi nelci do mu'i lo nu do nelci mi} =3D {mu'igi do nelci mi gi mi = nelci > do}? > Also, I'm suspicious about whether the original author wanted {seri'agi} = or > {ri'agi}. > mi'e cribe > > -- > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "lojban" group. > To post to this group, send email to lojban@googlegroups.com. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > lojban+unsubscribe@googlegroups.com. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/lojban?hl=3Den. > --=20 You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "= lojban" group.
