We have read so many great things about Belize and Bonaire but just cannot find anyone who has actually been to either place. It is always "Thats where I've always wanted to go but never made it!!" So I am looking for input. Has anyone been to either place that could recommend sites or hotels or even better, has anyone been to BOTH places and could offer a helping decision for us? Thanks. I just returned from an 8 day diving trip to Bonaire and would highly recommend it. There are over 40 fantastic dives sites that are shore dives, plus if you really feel the need you can add boats dives. I dont know that you really need to unless you have a site your o see. A must do is the you have to get permission to dive this site. If you do decide to do it I would recommend going over to Buddy Dive and going through them they only charge and they will provide the divemaster to lead the dive, I would suggest either Germa'n or Andre'. You wont go wrong with either of them, highly skilled and they are tech certified. You do need to rent a pickup truck and Total Car Rental is a great company to deal with. They currency there is Gilders which works great for us. 20 US dollars is 35 Gilders. They also on average speak 4 languages so thats not an issue. If you have any other questions let me know.
