It is the 1st edition with lots of corrections to typos, and minor clarifications, but it reflects the same version of the language that was baselined in 1997. There will eventually be a true 2nd edition that will reflect approved language changes arising from the BPFK work, but that new edition needed a corrected 1st edition book to serve as a starting point, and likely will be a few years off. > I would like to > buy it directly and was curious if there was an online version or pdf > like the first edition had. This all was completed just a few days ago, after some glitches in an earlier run. The book was more or less done back in 2014, and the time since has been spent in cleaning up the formatting, producing a cover, etc. The published book exists on github in docbooks format https://github.com/lojban/cll/tree/docbook-prince/official There is a PDF there that is what the amazon book was printed from. You can buy the book from amazon and possibly cheaper from other vendors, but we are not selling it directly ourselves. We still have a few dozen copies of the original edition, most of which will eventually be sent off to amazon as well. > I'm really interested in participating in the community and picking up > the language.
