Or You're Not KEEPING PUBLISHERS IN BUSINESS SINCE 1995 Hello, Everyone... Since my last "Publishers For Sale" issue, I have been fortunate enoug= h to clear the deck for the most part... but a few didn't quite make b= eing sold by the end of the first quarter. I am planning to make sure = those are resolved by the end of June for a closing shortly thereafter= . As well, I have a few newer acquisition candidates available I am plan= ning to have sold by the end of June. So, what I am saying is that wai= ting won't get you anything, but acting could get you a great company = or line at very little cost. Here are just a few of my listings... mostly those with a strong desir= e to close by June or July. Feel free to inquire about the other half = dozen or more listings I have... send me an email and I will send you = a short list. If you have an interest in buying but you don't see what you are looki= ng for here, let me know... I have a few Sellers who aren't quite read= y yet to be in the marketplace, (fence sitters) and more in discussion= every month, as you can see from the increase in listings. If you have an interest in selling, contact me confidentially to deter= mine a complimentary, no obligation, ballpark value for your company, = and we can start the process... we will have to hurry a bit if you wan= t to get sold by the end of the year 2019, but, it can be done! Contact me on the above or the below: mfoner@nplconsult.com mailto:mfo= ner@nplconsult.com . 1.=C2=A0 =C2=A0UNUSUAL MAP COMPANY... In business 30 years, and with o= ver 500 copyrights, marketing agreements, and variations, this part-ti= me map company has a customer list, products, multiple websites, and c= ontracts licensing their products to very well-known organizations and= corporations. Just this summer, digitizing much of this work and putt= ing this treasure trove up on Amazon... sales reflect this new 'push'.= They got serious attention when the TV program "West Wing" used one o= f their copyrighted maps on multiple episodes and they were off to the= races back in the 1990s. All owners are into deep retirement and are = not heavy marketers...but their networking over the years has done the= m well. Profits consistently in the $30s... plus $70K inventory... and 500 pro= ducts in their potential line... Asking $295,000 which is 5X net plus = inventory and some value for IP assets. Note, because of the high interest in this company, all=C2=A0presentat= ions will be sent out May 10th, and initial solicitations of interest = and bids will be deadlined for May 31st. A group of 2 to 3 potentials = will be pursued for a second round of detailed negotiations from whom = a buyer will be chosen and final negotiations settled anticipating an = June 30 or July closing. 2.=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0 Men Supporting Women's Movement, Magazine. This s= ubject could NOT be more timely! Has been around over 20 years. Revenu= es come from subscriptions and some moderate donations during the year= . The magazine is a glossy but accepts no advertising, something that = should absolutely change and make the entire operation substantially p= rofitable almost immediately. Current owner willing to stay on as part time editor and take 1099 or = W-2 income in lieu of full purchase price, permitting new owner to get= a substantial tax benefit from this type of transaction. We can discu= ss. Asking $75,000 but again, negotiable based on hiring current owner or = not. Profit multiple covers asking price. 3.=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0 Amazing Illustrated Tech History Title of APPLE..= . Complete history of APPLE and its products including hundreds of pho= tos of original and current products. Amazing oversized coffee table b= ook with substantial history and endorsed by Steve Wozniak. First publ= ished in 2013 and did very well (40,000+ copies). Ready for re-issue a= nd re-marketing and in light of current events should easily do better= second time around, given their #1 status as an international corpora= te star. Asking includes some inventory available, rights, and forfeit= ure of royalty. Negotiable to reduce in exchange for royalty downline.= Asking $95,000. w/out royalty; $60,000 with. 4.=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0 Equine Magazine and Related Products. In business= 25 years, profitable, owner is ready to retire. Strong following in t= heir niche. Revenues steady, profits as well. Time for a new person to= come in and revamp the marketing and approach, even though solid soci= al media numbers, could use a new pair of eyes, in my opinion. More de= tailed info and forward projections and what needs to be done, all ava= ilable to review. Asking $90,000, negotiable if closed this summer. 5.=C2=A0=C2=A0=C2=A0 Civil War Information Records Books. Huge treasur= e trove of information is all I can say. If you want to have the "Ance= stry level" of data about the Civil War and every participant, locatio= n, and battle, THIS IS FOR YOU! The publisher was finally able to give= me a reasonably clean count of the total number of titles, records of= families, battles, chronologies, you name it. In fact, it wouldn't ta= ke much to create an "Ancestry" type service about the people and plac= es of the war and charge subscriptions, in addition to book sales. Yes= , this one is a 2018 holdover because it truly needs the right buyer t= o take FULL advantage of the multiple streams of revenue this can crea= te. So far we are up to about 1,500+ titles. Most digital 600+ and 300+/- = physical. This is an opportunity to add to your Civil War line and to = create/market over 1,500 eBooks if that is your thing. Or, create and = market over 1,500 physical. About 600 of the titles are now digitally = for sale on Amazon and website. Bonus One is there are roughly 300 titles waiting to be 'produced' by = primary author, putting this deal at over 1,800 titles! Bonus Two is that of all these titles, only 600 of them have even been= put up for sale anywhere...and most of those within the last 12-18 mo= nths, on Amazon only, so historic sales numbers are going to be prelim= inary at best. Inventory is close to $30K. Revenues are around $60K, net around $35K.= Asking on this one includes the value of having over 1,500 titles in = Civil War information and the potential inherent in physical and eBook= s... Asking $249,000., negotiable and some option for seller financing= for a small portion. Well, for the moment, this is the list. Yes, I do have another half dozen or more listings available, but thes= e are the ones who have deadlines to sell this spring or summer. If you have interest in any of these, let me know at mfoner@nplconsult= .com mailto:mfoner@nplconsult.com , as soon as possible as these compa= nies and lines will go quickly for the negotiable buyer.
