began to feel more weary and anxious about his plan. He thought to himself,=

portantly what would they do to me?? The butler had come to check on Alex o=
ne more time before heading to his room, ?Mr.Alex is there anything I could=
 get you before I call it a night??, said the butler. Alex replied with, ?N=
o I?m fine, have a good night.? The butler responded with, ?Well if you nee=
d anything you know where my room is?. The butler closed Alex?s door and Al=
ex waited until the footsteps of the butler could no longer be heard. Alex =
quickly jumped out of his bed, leaving behind one of his many stuffed anima=
ls in his place. He quickly changed, put on proper shoes, grabbed his walle=
t, and carefully opened his door. He raced down the stairs, and rushed towa=
rds the front door, just as he saw the butler walk out of the kitchen, Alex=
 hid behind a cabinet. The butler said out loud, ?Is anyone there?? Alex ju=
st stayed there praying to not be caught by his butler. About 10 minutes la=
ter the butler finally decided to go back to his room, quickly Alex ran tow=
ards the front door, unlocked it, and rushed outside. He began following th=
e road that led away from his home. Alex was nervous, he had never been out=
side, he had never even been beside a forest of trees. This was all so new =
to Alex, but he seemed to enjoy it. He quickly started sprinting down the p=
ath, smiling, he was enjoying every second he spent outside that tiny box o=
f his, he called ?home?.=20

After walking for about an hour or so, Alex had finally arrived in the city=
 called Greendale. As he walked around exploring what Greendale had to offe=
r, he soon found an inn, Alex decided to spend the night there, paying with=
 the money he had saved from all those previous years. Alex was so excited =
that he couldn?t sleep, he just looked out the window in the room he was st=
aying in, and thought to himself how beautiful the moon was. Soon later Ale=
x drifted off into a nice relaxing slumber. Morning had come, Alex was so e=
xcited to continue exploring Greendale. He marched out of the inn and start=
ed walking down the sidewalks of Greendale. He visited many stores, was fri=
endly to everyone he encountered, and yet every time he turned a corner or =
accidentally bumped into someone he felt like everyone stared at him. He th=
ought nothing of it at the time because he thought that they were just wear=
y about why a 16 year old was out and about alone, without a parent in sigh=
t. As he walked down the street a boy with decently long blonde hair, and b=
lue eyes approached Alex,?Umm hello?, said Alex. The boy replied with, ?Oh =
my god, Daniel?!? Alex was a bit confused and responded with,?My name isn?t=

y the way my name is Dilan?. Alex said, ?Oh hi Dilan?. Dilan responded with=
,?Have you ever ever been to Greendale? You seem a little confused, are you=
 a tourist visiting?? Alex responded with, ?Ya I?m a tourist of some sort, =
I was actually just about to go get something to eat, if you wanna join me?=

he two boys walked towards a restaurant down the block. As they say down Di=
lan had asked for a Pepsi and Alex ordered a glass of water. ?So, you said =
your friend's name was Daniel.? Alex said. Dilan responded with, ?Ya that w=
as his name, the last time I saw him we were about 6 or 7, we were best fri=
ends or so I thought. One day he just vanished, his parents never saw him a=

? Dilan started telling Alex things that only he knew about himself, he had=
 never told anyone else. Alex started to get freaked out by how much Dilan =

Dilan asked one final question, ?Don?t you have a birthmark on your right s=
houlder?? Alex stood there in shock, frightened of how Dilan knew all these=
 things about him. Dilan responded with, ?By your reaction, I guess it real=
ly is you, Daniel.? As a tear fell down Dilan?s face, he said, ?I?ve finall=
y found you.? Dilan tells Alex that his real name is Daniel, and that he wa=
s kidnapped many years ago. Alex then said, ?No that?s impossible my name i=
s Alex and I live in a mansion behind the forest of trees.? Dilan replies w=
ith, ?No your real name is Daniel, and you?ve been my best friend since we =
were in elementary school. If you don?t believe me let's head to the Greend=
ale police station right now, they have a picture of how you would look as =
a teenager.? They walk towards the police station and as they arrive, they =
ask to see the picture of the missing boy named Daniel. In shock, Alex drop=
s to the floor, crying, and says, ?That?s me, I?m Daniel.? The boy who had =
sworn he had never seen the outside before was actually a boy who spent cou=
ntless hours outside as a kid. Everything his so called parents had ever to=
ld him was a lie, and the reason they never let him outside of that prison =
he called ?home? was because they feared he would find out who he truly was=
 The Alex who once existed was a fake, he never existed not for one second=
, his true identity was Daniel. The boy who once lived in that box of a hom=
e was no more and just like that ?Alex? swore to never set foot in that box=
 ever again, he never returned to that place he called home. The truth was =
finally revealed, he was finally free, he could finally explore the world, =

I am a princess. However, I am not safe in my castle like I am supposed to =
be. My beautiful dress is soiled and shredded. I lost my crown on the way o=
ver here. Having a dragon go to all the trouble of kidnapping me was a litt=
le flattering, but the knights in shining armour have still not arrived. Pe=
rhaps they got lost. I may have to sing louder. The dragon glares at me in =
annoyance, but I sweetly remind him how much I paid him to bring me up here=
 Hopefully it is my favourite knight, the youngest one, who will be the on=
e to stumble upon this tower. The dragon will put on a show of force, and w=
hen the knight responds with courage, will turn tail and fly away. The knig=
ht will be bolstered and finally ask for my hand, and I may decide to give =
it to him.=20

Is that all I am?

I am a pirate. I am definitely wearing one of those leather corsets over a =
loose-sleeved shirt, with tan breeches tucked into my knee-high boots. I am=
 also definitely swabbing the deck after receiving a tongue lashing and a r=
eal lashing from the captain. Little does he know that not all the coins I =
took were found, and I still have three down my boot. The pain in my back i=
s soothed by the anticipation of the rum that will warm my throat later at =
the expense of those coins. But then a cry is heard from the crow?s nest. T=
he first mate glowers while I discard my mop. I unsheathe my blade and fing=
er the tip, feeling the rush of battle flow through my veins. There will be=
 struggle, and there will be blood, but there will be gold.=20

I cannot be confined to only three identities.=20

I am a rebel. That is what the news media will call me if they find me, but=
 I don?t mind anymore. I pass a drone marked with a pizza symbol as it whir=
s to its destination: some home where the inhabitants have breathed recycle=
d air for far too long. I keep walking to this place I found last time I wa=
s able to get out. It used to be called a park, but anyone who still knows =
of it only does from old photographs and movies. There must have been a pat=
h there before, but now everything is covered in welcoming greenery. I hear=
 another drone, and perhaps it is delivering someone?s package from another=
 online shopping spree?but no. It is headed in my direction. I break into a=
 run, leaping over fallen logs with a burst of energy, but it does not last=
 I am not used to physical exertion. The drone catches up to me, and in it=
s monotone voice, informs me that it is not safe outside. A prong extends a=
nd latches onto my wrist. I know that to fight will only bring pain, so I f=
ollow it back to my apartment while planning my next escape. Maybe next tim=
e, the odds will be in my favour.=20

Must I be only human?

I am a ladybug. I have six legs that work in perfect symmetry as I climb th=
is lovely blade of grass. It bends beneath me, and by the time I have reach=
ed the top, I am no longer climbing, but strolling down a sweet little aven=
ue made only for me above a sea of green. Then it has an end; no warning si=
gns, but a sudden tapering of of the blade. I make my way over the edge and=
 into another world. It is a little darker and cooler down here, not to men=
tion that I can see the sky beneath my feet. Ah! There is a delicious-looki=
ng aphid, calmly eating his lunch of my walkway. Little does he know that I=
 will?mmmm. He is as delicious as he looked. I continue down the blade of g=
rass, and it straightens out again. I reach the ground and head for another=
 lovely adventure.=20

I am an elf. My kind has been scattered during the wars in an effort to spr=
ead our wisdom, but that has resulted in me falling in with a group of not-=
scrupulously-clean ruffians. I sit as part of the circle around the fire an=
d listen to their talk. They are such children to the ways of the world. Ho=
w do they not understand that their whole conversation is merely a repeat o=
f what happened a hundred years ago? How do they not know that what they do=
 in their little lifetimes cannot really impact the course that this globe =

I am an empty shell. The man who was once my lover now lies cold and dead i=

eft; nothing but the unsympathetic corpse in front of me. Perhaps we shall =

I am a harlot. I kneel before the Lord, tears coming unbidden to my eyes. T=
hey fall on His feet, but He does not shake them off in disgust. Instead, H=
e watches as I wipe them off with my hair. His are the only eyes I can meet=
 at the table, for to everyone else I am a sinner. To Him, I am forgiven an=
d loved. In His presence I can live. I do not yet know that He will die to =
make that forgiveness legal. All I know is that He is willing to do anythin=
g for the ones He loves.=20

Perhaps I am someone I wish to be someday.=20

I am a mother. My youngest begins to whimper, so I pull her close and arran=
ge the blanket over myself so that she might suckle undisturbed. My third t=
ugs on my free arm to show me a drawing that he just finished, complete wit=
h a shaky version of him and me: our arms are connected to our legs, which =
protrude directly from our heads, but we both have smiles that (literally) =
stretch off our faces. My other daughter is sitting beside me, sounding out=
 the words of the newest book I introduced to her. My oldest is sitting at =
the table, working over a math question that I will probably have to help h=
im correct later. My husband will be home in another hour. Once my baby is =
finished feeding, I will put her into her cradle, then get the children to =
put their books and pencils away so they can help me with getting supper re=
ady. In just a few short hours, they will all be asleep under my wings once=
 more. Another blessed day come and gone.=20

Am I someone I have created?

I am an actress. I am fully in character when two chalices of wine are give=
n to me to carry to the king and queen. How am I supposed to know of the po=
ison until they drop dead? Of course I am blamed, but there is one way they=
 can ensure I will never be able to tell the truth of the murders: they can=
 trap me on set in Biatre. Everything I do is edited. My only hope for surv=
ival is to be a compelling enough character that they will not be able to k=
