Having said that, many of us *are* computer geeks of one stripe or another, so the main mailing list is generally receptive of such discussions. For my own part, and this is something of a side comment, I have been convinced for many years that Lojban's "killer app" is speech recognition. Given the unambiguous syntax, I believe (and I have no expertise in this field at all) that it *should* be possible to create a Lojban speech recognition app that dramatically outperforms any natural language STT app, with far less work.
